Kenny, F Marcus B

Francis Marcus Brown Kenny (known as Marcus)

Kenny was born at Clanbrassil Street, Dundalk on 20th November 1907 to David Kenny, Draper and Helen Kenny nee Brown. 

In 1911, Marcus (3) is living in house 18, Clanbrassil Street, Dundalk with his parents, 8 boarders and 2 servants. This property is recorded as a 'drapers shop'.

Following his education. Kenny joined the bank at Westport branch in 1927. Further transfers followed to Cookstown, Portadown, Wexford and Camden Street branches. He was also on Relief Staff prior to his appointment to the Bullion Department.

Kenny volunteered and enlisted into the  Royal Artillery on 12th January 1940.

On demobilisation, Kenny was transferred to the Reserves until 1954. he also returned to the bank.
 
Kenny retired from the bank in 1972.

He died on 19 July 1983 leaving his widow, Freda and sons, David and Robert. The Bank staff magazine published this obituary:
