Caldwell was born at Greenleas, Caw, Londonderry on 2nd August 1903 to Charles Caldwell, Solicitor and Jane Caldwell nee Foster. They had married on 12th July 1891 at Ballynacross House, Londonderry.
Following his education, Caldwell joined the bank in 1921 at Carlisle Circus branch. Later transfers were to Cornmarket, Garvagh (1928), Lisnaskea (1934), Longford (1935) branches and Head Office in 1938.
Caldwell volunteered and enlisted for war service.
Following his demobilisation, Caldwell returned to the bank as Cashier in Donegall Place branch.
In 1949, Caldwell retired from the bank on pension.
Harry Caldwell died on 7th November 1980 and was survived by his daughter, Anne and sons, John and Bill (Manager, Markets branch).
