Clegg, Frederick Willian Cyril

Frederick William Cyril Clegg

Clegg was born at Victoria Road, Larne on 22nd March 1913 to Frederick Charles Clegg, Solicitors Assistant and Emily Clegg nee Drummond. They had married on 26th August 1901 at St Anne's Parish Church, Belfast.

Following his education, Clegg joined the bank on 1st January 1932 at Head Office.

Clegg volunteered and enlisted into the Royal Air Force and served on Air/Sea Rescue Operations.

Following his demobilisation. Clegg returned to the bank where he later was appointed as Pro-Manager in Londonderry branch. He held the Diploma of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland and also the Special Diploma in Foreign Exchange.

Clegg died in service on 21st May 1966. The Bank staff magazine published this obituary:
